When buying players it is best to do so only with those out of contract. To do this use a scout to search for type and rating (use handling and low ratings - you're only interested in outfield players and they ain't usually good goalies). Each turn check the results and phone those with a 0 year contract. Offer the club £0 and the player the lowest you can - but give him the wage shown. Even if they are no good to your team (worse player or too old) you'll make about 3-4 times the fee you pay if you sell them later in the season.

If the player you wanyt to buy is under 21 offer him a contract (up to 5 years) and multiply the signing fee by the same amount. He'll refuse the contract part (as it is over 2 years) but you'll still get him and for the longer term. The extra money you've laid out on his fee will be easily recouped by the savings you make in not having to renew his contract and in the overall lower wage for those extra years when he will be vastly improved.

By using these techniques you can easily keep in the black and, at the same time, improve your stadium and team without resorting to costly loans.
