| Description: |
A horizontally scrolling platform based game for 1 or 2 (simultaneous) players.
"Developed over a period of around 6-8 months, Allo Allo must rate as one of
the most bizarre TV "tie-ins". An early demo was up and running in around a month
or so, in which the player could control Rene running around the cafe but little
else. The coder on the project Bill Gibbs (also know as William Gibbs) left
Alternative when the project was only a few months old, and ex-C64 coder Steve
Metcalf was brought in to finish the game. The initial idea for the game was to
try and capture the feel of "Titus the Fox", but the nature of the title made it
nigh on impossible. Unfortunately no reference material was obtained from the BBC,
so all the character gfx were drawn from still video frames or pictures found in
magazines and books. Overall the game received mixed reviews from generally poor
to good - in my opinion the game was too hard to play."
