| After gaining a degree in Maths, Ricardo teamed up with Dominic Prior
and formed Torus where, with two friends, they produced their first
game, Gyron, for the Spectrum. Torus then converted Elite from BBC to
Spectrum and Amstrad and produced one further game, Hive, before splitting
up. Ricardo then joined Rainbird and was involved with several games
one of which EPT and its subsequent cancellation drove him to leave
games development in disappointment. He came back to join some old
aquaintances and become a member of their company, The Assembly Line,
the result of which was Cybercon 3. Following this he left and worked
for a tabletop games company and also produced his first novel. A
further foray into games followed with Nightmare Circus but once again
events conspired against him with the game being released only in Brazil
and in California on cable. Ricardo decided then to concentrate on
writing novels; a career which he still follows.
